In response to recent events, the Centre for Neuroscience Studies at Queen's University would like to make a statement with respect to racism and discrimination.  The Centre is committed to fostering a caring community and we welcome people of all skin colour, race, religion, gender and sexual orientation.  Racism is not condoned and as a Centre we are making an anti-racist commitment which is to be reflected in our academic lives at Queen's University and affiliated hospitals.  We are deeply disturbed by the recent events that have transpired and believe the challenges that face us as a society can only be met by examining the conditions and behaviours that promote racism.  The Centre is dedicated to being a unified anti-racist research centre; we will continue to ensure anti-racism is reflected in our work environment and culture and will work with our Student Leadership Committee to develop best practices to dismantle any racism that may arise in our research centre.  Dr. Roumen Milev, Director, Centre for Neuroscience Studies
